The tour showed the houses that have been perserved that were built in the late 1890's that have the Queen Anne architecture. You would think by the name that the tour was on Wilson Block, but nope! It was on Swiss Ave over by the Meadows Foundation. I have seen the houses a number of times, but it was interesting reading the history of the houses. The houses were built by the Wilson Family in Dallas. The Meadows Foundation are using the houses for different non-profit agencies in Dallas. My first experience with a walking tour in Dallas was interesting and made me realize a characteristic of Dallas which is a sense of helping others. I really have a heart to make communities and families stronger and I was able to enjoy the walking tour and see the number of different non-profits that are using the historical houses. Here are some pics:
Housed by Family Gateway

Housed by Suicide & Crisis Center
Housed by the United Negro College Fund
This is the main Wilson House
I will eventually get to the other tours (Downtown, Art's District and Fair Park) when the weather improves. It has been cold or rainy since I went in November. This was a short tour, but had great architecture that had such detail. The pictures do not do them justice. Last thing, I would encourage you to donate your time or money to some great causes in Dallas. :)
